The One-cent Prexie

Local, non-carrier use

First class "drop rate" mail sent intracity when there was no delivery by carrier could be sent for one cent per ounce from July 1, 1919 until January 1, 1952.

This was an unsealed Christmas Card sent at the non-carrier local rate of one cent, saving a half-cent over similar cards sent out of the area.
