The Twenty-four-cent Prexie

Airmail, registered with return receipt use

From July 1, 1934 until March 26, 1944, the cost to mail a letter airmail with basic registry and return receipt requested was twenty-four cents. This broke down as six cents for airmail, fifteen cents basic registry, and three cents for the return receipt service.

This cover was sent airmail within California in March of 1940 with basic registry and return receipt requested.

A cover sent airmail, registered, return receipt requested from Hawaii to the mainland in February of 1942, using the military concession airmail rate.
