The Two-cent Prexie

Domestic postcard rate use

Domestic postcards were charged two cents several times in our history. The period that coincides with Prexie use was January 1, 1952 until August 1, 1958.

A horizontal coil two-cent Prexie paid the postage on this card from Seward, AK in 1953.

Mail sent through the armed forces system in the 1950's from non-combat zones was charged domestic rates, such as this postcard mailed in 1955 from A.P.O. 206 located in Athens.
