The Twelve-cent Prexie

Four times PUAS postage

Four times the surface postage to any PUAS country during the Prexie period would result in twelve cents postage.

The surface rate to Canada was three cents from September 1, 1931 until August 1, 1958. This cover, mailed in early 1942, did not pick up censor tape or a regular civil censor handstamp, but a simple "PASSED BY U.S. CENSOR."

The surface rate to Mexico was three cents from April 1, 1932 to August 1, 1958. This battered cover was sent there at quadruple postage from New York in 1950 and eventually forwarded to Connecticut.
